Chronic Pancreatitis

Clinical symptoms:

(1) Abdominal pain is mostly located in the upper abdomen, diffuse, can radiate to the back, two ribs, can be in remission when sit up or lean forward.

(2) Due to pancreatic insufficiency, there are various degrees of dyspepsia symptoms such as abdominal distension, poor appetite, oil-weariness, emaciation, fatty diarrhea and so on; half of the patients develop diabetes because of endocrine dysfunction.

(3) Some cases have mild upper abdominal tenderness, advanced chronic pancreatitis may show malnutrition due to fatty diarrhea, and moderate to severe epigastric tenderness may occur in the case of acute attack.
